To start off I have to admit that I am a huge Wu fan. Always have been and always will be. With that being said the couple week deaded beef/B.S. really has nothing to do with my opinions on the Slaughterhouse album.
I bought "Slaughterhouse" with great anticipation and as a matter of fact it has been a long time since I have bought a brand new CD from a retail store – (Not So) Best Buy in this case. Usually I buy CD’s online at discounted prices… sometimes. So, obviously, I was amped about this and couldn’t wait to put it into my deck and bump it on the way to work.
As the first couple of tracks played through I was still amped and shit was on point. However, as the CD progressed it regressed at the same time. To stay away from technical B.S. I ‘m not going to get into why I feel that way. That isn’t what this is about.
I was somewhat disappointed but not too much because overall it was a pretty good album and definitely playable all the way through. That in its self is an accomplishment in music altogether and not just in hip hop.
After these past few weeks or however long it has been (I’m not really good with time) I have found myself listening to the Slaughterhouse CD less and less. Actually, it’s to the point where I haven’t listened to it in a while and the shit hasn’t been out that long. I even started to play it yesterday just to turn it off almost immediately. Now this could just be me not being in the mood to hear it but I don’t know. But, if an album is a classic or anywhere close to that classification I would usually bump the shit ’til the wheels fell off. For such great claims by Joe Budden himself and some reviews I think the wheels gave out a little prematurely.
So my question is this: Is Slaughterhouse still in your deck?
